I am Nick Walters, the owner of Walters Medicare, LLC. I am an independent Medicare broker licensed in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. This page explains what information I collect, what I do with it, and who else can see it.
I have written this in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, call me at 330-227-4402 and I will explain it.
What this website collects
When you visit waltersmedicare.com, some information is collected automatically.
- Website analytics. I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. This records the pages you visit, roughly where in the country you are, and what kind of device you use. It does not tell me who you are.
- Advertising pixel. I use Meta's advertising pixel so I can reach people who have visited my site. Like the analytics, it records which pages you visit. Some of my pages are about specific kinds of Medicare plans, so the page address itself can suggest what you were reading about. It does not record anything about your health, and I do not send Meta any information you give me.
- Clicks on my phone number and booking link. I count how many people tap to call me or open my booking page. I see the count, not who did it.
If you book an appointment through my scheduling link, that page is run by Calendly. You give them your name, email, and phone number so I know who I am meeting and when.
If you download my Medicare guide, you give me your email address. That list is run by MailerLite. Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately.
What I collect when you become a client
To compare plans and enroll you, I need real information about you. That usually includes your name, date of birth, address, phone number, Medicare number, the medications you take, the doctors you see, and the pharmacy you use.
I need your medications and your doctors because that is the only way to check whether a plan works for you. A plan that looks good on paper is the wrong plan if it does not cover your prescriptions or your cardiologist.
I keep this information in two systems built for Medicare brokers. One is where I keep your file and notes. The other is where enrollments are submitted. Both are run by companies that serve licensed agents, and both require a login.
I do not ask for your Social Security number through this website, and I do not ask you to email it to me.
Who can see your information
- Me. I am the person you talk to and the person who handles your file.
- Any assistants who help with client service. They can see client records so they can help you, and they are held to the same confidentiality requirements I am.
- The carrier you choose. When you enroll, your application goes to that insurance company. They need it to issue your coverage.
- Medicare or a carrier during a review. Carriers and CMS can audit an agent's records. If that happens, I have to provide what they ask for.
That is the whole list. Nobody else sees your information.
Recorded calls
Federal Medicare rules require me to record sales and enrollment calls for Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, from start to finish. This applies to every licensed agent, not just large call centers, and it covers video calls too.
I will tell you at the start of the call that it is being recorded. If you would rather not be recorded, tell me and we will talk about your options, though I cannot complete an Advantage or Part D enrollment by phone without a recording.
I keep these recordings as long as the rules require and provide them if CMS or a carrier asks.
What I do not do
- I do not sell your information.
- I do not give your information to lead buyers or other agents.
- I do not use anything you tell me about your health to target advertising to you.
- I do not contact you about plans you did not ask about.
Cookies and how to opt out
This site uses cookies for the analytics and advertising described above. You can turn most of this off.
To opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit, install Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (opens in a new tab)
To control how Meta uses your activity, open your Facebook settings and look for Off-Facebook Activity (opens in a new tab).
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's settings menu.
Turning these off does not affect your ability to use this site or to work with me.
If you join my email list, I send Medicare information and occasional notes about enrollment deadlines. Every message has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, I stop.
How long I keep things
- Call recordings. As long as federal Medicare rules require.
- Client files. For as long as you are my client and for a period afterward, because carriers and state regulators can ask about past business.
- Email list. Until you unsubscribe.
- Website analytics. Google and Meta set their own retention periods.
Keeping your information safe
The systems I use to store client information require a login and are built for licensed insurance agents. This website uses a secure connection. I do not store client health information on this website.
No system is perfect, and I will not tell you otherwise. What I can tell you is that I do not keep client information anywhere it does not belong.
Children
This site is for people approaching or already on Medicare. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle information, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
